FEATURE FILM SCRIPT...

Tomorrow, Thursday, January 19th, 2012 - we - Barefoot Studio Pictures will have our first ever reading for one of our scripts in development.  The cast of 25 includes Barefoot Theatre Company members as well as friends and family members.  The screenplay written by Francisco Solorzano, calls for an Ensemble cast to help tell the story of a young man and his first love, all taking place in Brooklyn, New York with one of the landmarks of Brooklyn, The CYCLONE at Coney Island as one of its main characters/locations.

Part of Barefoot Studio Pictures' mission is to bring the process of writing in theater to screenplay writing as well as to the developmental process.  It's during these readings and meetings with actors and playwrights that the major edits and changes are made to the script.  We encourage the idea of constructive criticism that supports and brings to the page the writers initial impulse behind their story.  This reading is part of Barefoot Theatre Company's DIRECTOR'S LAB - closed readings with invited guests followed by an open discussion of the work.  We provide a supportive and creative environment using constructive criticism.

Barefoot Studio Pictures is currently accepting submissions for SHORT FILM SCREENPLAYS.  If interested in submitting please email us at: barefootlit@gmail.com with "Screenplay" in the subject line.

Barefoot Studio Pictures -
Founded by a small group of Ensemble Members from New York City's critically acclaimed Barefoot Theatre Company, Barefoot Studio Picutres is an LA & NYC based independent company dedicated to the production and development of feature, short and viral films.
Reminiscent of the gritty, visceral and character driven pictures from the late 60's and early 70's era, we explore stories from a truthful place that ignite passion, incite laughter, and provoke discussion.  As bold, commanding and powerful as its theatrical partner, Barefoot Studio Pictures promises to take artistic risks to bring a memorable cinematic experience to life.
